So now that you’ve been drawn to my blog in one way or another, I’d first like to thank you for even reading my posts.
Hi, I’m Jenna!
If you hadn’t read the brief bio on my front page, I am a soon-to-be (March) 23 year old, recent college graduate who is in pursuit of a healthier lifestyle, expansion of my fitness knowledge, and a hopeful loss of 30 pounds on the way.
In high school I was active in sports, playing Varsity Golf and running cross country for a few years. At one point I was even able to run five miles straight. I headed off to college feeling great, excited about what was to come.
However, through these past four years I’ve still held a few extra pounds around my midsection…and managed to gain a few as well.
This blog is evidence of my efforts to change this and to conquer my genetics, laziness, sometimes bad eating habits, what have you.
Oh, and I also have the cutest kitties in the world. Enter Lily and Bella (the b&w kitty):
The great thing about finding my blog now is that you’ll get to travel with me on my journey to become more fit and lead a healthier lifestyle. This will give you the inside scoop on the process, rather than just reading about a blogger who has already made that journey.
Some goals I have in the near future (let’s call it 5 year span):
- Run a half marathon (I’ll hopefully register within the next month or two) by 2012.
- Lose 20 pounds by December 2011. (I’ve already lost 10, so we’ll call it 30ish total).
- Get in SUPER shape.
- Learn new ways of cooking, and consistently try new (and develop my own) healthy recipes.
- Help to educate others through my blog.
- Become certified as a personal trainer (long term goal).
In short, I just want to be healthier and eventually help others to find that same level of comfort with themselves and what they are eating. I’m completely happy with my life as it is and am not expecting (and don’t expect others) to find that losing weight will change the level of happiness I have, but will only help me to live life on a more fuller level.
And with that, thanks again and enjoy the journey!

Hey girl! I’m lovin’ the blog =) You and I are actually very similar! I just graduated in December too, and my birthday is in March
Although I’ll be turning 23, yuck. Haha. Best of luck with your goals! I think they’re all very attainable, so keep up the good work =)
That’s so weird! Pisces too, I’m guessing? haha. Good luck with your goals as well, I’ll be sure to check out your blog later tonight
Hi! Best of luck on your fitness journey. I think college/early 20′s are a tough time for a lot of us, health-wise. We’re still trying to establish a routine and our lives.
Thank you
Good luck! You’re doing fabulous. We have very similar pursuits (I’m doing WW, running, losing weight–have about 30-40 lbs. left to lose–and cooking healthy recipes)!
Oh that’s great! Don’t you just LOVE WW? Good luck with the last 30lbs!
I took this same journey; lost the weight, trained constantly and finally ran that half marathon. It led me to a point where I can’t go a few days without a run- it’s like medication for a bad day. I even wake up early to run before work (being a new college grad that’s saying something;))
So anyways, keep up the good work, and don’t quit- it’s all worth it in the end!
